DVB-RCS Routers Nera Satlink
Desktop units and routers that provide two-way Internet Protocol (IP)
communications via satellite at Ku-Band frequencies. Nera SatLink Routers
and Terminals - for corporations, institutions or home offices - offer an
open-interface for high-capacity broadband access that bypasses the "last
mile" bottleneck associated with terrestrial infrastructure. The Nera
SatLink IDU is offered in a family with two basic versions:
· Nera SatLink 1000 Terminal - a 10 inch wide desktop intended for
consumer and SOHO use.
· Nera SatLink 1900 Router - a 19 inch rack mount intended for business
communications.
The Nera SatLink ODU is offered in various versions with antennas and RF
equipment for space segment communications in the C-, Ku- or Ka-bands.

DVB-RCS Gateways
NERA Satlink Hub
Nera SatLink Hub supports existing DVB-RCS compliant Forward Link System (FLS),
but Nera also offers FLS solutions. The Nera SatLink Hub provides all the
required interfaces and management functions necessary to set up a DVB-RCS
service. The Hub operator can interface DVB-RCS terminals to a terrestrial
network or service provider, and manage all the operational aspects of the
system. Primary Nera SatLink Hub services include routing and transmission
of TCP / IP-based applications such as World-Wide Web (WWW) browsing, File
Transfer Protocol (FTP), Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Voice over
IP (VoIP) and Video over IP (IP / TV) are supported by the Nera SatLink
Hub.
Nera SatLink Hub also supports higher-level services:
· Remote management of Terminals
· Remote management of the Nera SatLink Hub
· Authorisation, Authentication and Accounting (AAA) functions based on
Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS)
· Access control for Terminal IP sessions
· Dynamic IP addressing
· Multicasting
· Compression
Nera SatLink Hub Optional services include:
· Enhanced RRM functionality
· TCP-spoofing / optimisation
· QoS based on standard IP service differentiation models
· IP Gateways: VoIP and/or IP / TV gateways may be added to the Nera
SatLink Hub.
