Land Earth Stations

Land Earth StationsThe Nera Inmarsat programme was initiated with terminals in 1974 and extended to include Land Earth Stations (LES) in 1978. Equipment for all types of INMARSAT services has been supplied to the major users and telecommunications administrations world-wide. More than twenty years of experience and know how on development, manufacturing, field work and support will be carried on into new projects, systems and products.

With a market share of approximately 50%, has Nera supplied more ACSE equipment to the global Inmarsat Network than any other single vendor. Some of the INMARSAT ACSEs delivered by Nera, are among the most successful service providers world wide. The LES' good performance is daily proven to a large number of users. The Inmarsat M/B/Mini-M/M4/F Access Control and Signalling Equipment family provides telephony, facsimile, telex and data services to users via digital satellite channels to and from the Mobile Earth Stations and via fixed connections to the different terrestrial networks. The satellite links are provided by the Inmarsat space segment, which provides global coverage, with four different ocean regions constituting the global satellite network. Each LES may cover from one to three ocean regions, dependent on geographical position.
