also has the advantage of vastly reduced connection times speeding the
process of downloading e-mails and other data files.
Unrivalled support - around the clock, around the world Nera’s
continuous involvement in marine communications since 1978 has created a
powerful company ethos built on the massive importance of product
reliability and dedicated service and support. Nera F33 customers will
benefit from the company’s unique global network of regional service
centres with Nera-trained and certified engineers. This service is

State-of-the-art
marine communications providing a range of cost effective applications
Nera F33
This remarkable new Nera marine communications system is available now
with worldwide availability. Whilst based on the highly successful Nera
F77 system for large merchant vessels, the Nera F33 has been specifically
tailored for motor and sailing yacht applications.
Easy installation
Nera F33 is notably easy to install. It does not even need a Nera regional
service centre to do the job. Customers will find that they can easily do
it themselves. The compact antenna unit will also fit into existing
streamlined motor yacht domes.
Quick configuration
Below-deck equipment with the Nera F33 connects easily (plug and play) to
telephone, PC and fax terminals. Configuration is fast and simple, using a
PC man-to-machine interface.
Nera F77

The Nera F77 package includes high-speed ISDN at a 64 kbps, which permits
fast data transfer. With Nera F77 much-improved voice, fax and data access
are possible. It's this unrivalled knowledge combined with the proven
reliability of the Nera Saturn B satellite system that has positioned Nera
as the acclaimed world leaders in marine communications.
The new online world of
Maritime Mobile Packet Data Service (MPDS)
With Nera F77, ships will have at their command the communications tools
associated with everyday business on land. That's because the Nera F77
terminal uses the world's first global maritime Mobile Packet Data Service
(MPDS). This gives a ship online access to a whole range of applications
like the internet and e-mail. Because you only pay for the data
transmitted, not for the time connected, you can choose to be permanently
online. With both MPDS and ISDN on board you have the best of all worlds;
choice of applications, speed and transmission quality.

Satellite communications are increasingly being used by marine vessels in
order to access online connectivity with the onshore world. For several
years the Nera WorldPhone has been a success for both light marine market
and the commercial shipping market to access voice, low speed data and fax
services through the spot-beam satellite services. For vessels operating
on deep-sea global routes, the new Nera F77, based on Inmarsat Fleet 77
services would be the preferred installation. The larger Nera F77 provides
an "office at sea" service, with high-speed data capacity and serving
broad communications needs (including voice, data, Internet, fax)
available through Inmarsat's global- as well as spot beams. Inmarsat are
planning to launch the new Fleet F33 early in 2003 to fill the gap between
the two existing services, and once again Nera will be providing terminal
equipment for this service, with the launch of the Nera F33 terminal.

all-digital and global Inmarsat system that support telephone and telefax
services, telex and Internet and LAN access, as well as the emergency
services required for deep-sea and passenger ships. The Nera Saturn Bm is
a world leader. It consists of a sensor-stabilized antenna above decks and
an electronics unit and its peripherals below decks, usually on the bridge
of a vessel.

system that uses spot beams to cover the major ocean regions, except for
the more remote areas and the poles. It offers the convenience of
cost-effective mobile communications on board a wide variety of vessels,
including:
fishing vessels, for
communication in waters outside the range of VHF or cellular telephone.
deep-sea vessels, for
cost-effective services, for crew calling.
coastal craft, for more
consistent comms than via VHF or cellular telephone.
